Trapped in the Financial Matrix

I recently got back from visiting LIFE Leadership founder and #1 USA Today, Wall Street Journal and New York Times Best Selling Author Orrin Woodward down at his place in FLorida where he gave a talk on the following article for a group of us there.

I am blessed and honored to be partnered with Mr. Woodward and the other founders of LIFE Leadership.  I have completely different thinking on finances and economics as well as leadership and for the FIRST time in over 30 years have a savings built up as a result of applying the principles LIFE Leadership teaches.

I am simply copying this from his page as there is no way I can put it into better words.

High-paying longterm jobs are exiting North America at an alarming rate. Nonetheless, citizens of America and Canada seem unable (in some cases unwilling) to cut expenses. The latest numbers on American indebtedness (Canadian numbers are similarly dismal), both consumer debt and home mortgages, is staggering.

The latest GoBankingRates report found the average American is more than $225,000 in debt with little savings. The website identified (using the earnings, savings, and various loans) the “average American’s” (calling her ‘Mary Smith’) financial status.

GoBankingRates editor Jennifer Calonia stated that, “Mary is 37, the current median age of an American. She’s a non-Hispanic White, the largest demographic in the country, and she works in retail sales, the most common occupation in the United States”

Unfortunately, Mary’s pay and debt load is a train wreck in progress. Calonia noted, “Until we witness a much more dramatic return to permanent, long-term employment in the private sector, Mary Smith’s scenario, which leaves her drowning in debt and without adequate savings, will continue to play out, especially as more companies rely on temporary, low-wage work.”

According to the latest USA data, the real (inflation adjusted) median household income was $51,939 in 2013. However, one must remember that household income is the combined incomes from everyone working in the house. Basically, this means the average personal income is somewhere around $30k. Further, the total income has trended downward since 2007, falling 8% from the pre-recession peak of $56,436 and remains well below the 1999 record of $56,895.

In other words, household income, over the last 16 years, has actually gone down! Imagine working for 16 years straight only to receive less money than one did originally. To compound this pain, inflation has caused most other prices to skyrocket, leaving Americans bewildered and frustrated. This simply cannot continue indefinitely. Compare the average income of Americans with the average debt loads and a forthcoming financial disaster becomes apparent.

Here is a summary of the average debt numbers.

Average credit card debt among indebted households: $15,263

Average credit card interest rate: 14.95% APR

Average mortgage debt: $147,591

Average outstanding student loan balance: $31,646

Average auto loan debt: $30,738

Only 59 percent of Americans have at least $500 in a savings account saved.

Unknown1LIFE Leadership has the Financial Fitness Program to help people across the world learn how to play defense and offense in order to break free from the increasingly oppressive  Financial Matrix. Few understand the difference between expenses and investments and, unfortunately, most people maximize expenses while minimizing investments. LIFE Leadership, in contrast, teaches how to build wealth for the longterm by slashing expenses and investing in your #1 asset – yourself. If you are looking for an escape path from the Financial Matrix, LIFE Leadership has is the fasttrack. I feel like Morpheus explaining to people trapped in the matrix the plan to set them free:

Morpheus: When the (Financial) Matrix was first built, there was a man born inside who (he purchased a Financial Fitness Pack ) had the ability to change whatever he wanted, to remake the (Financial) Matrix as he saw fit. It was he who freed the first of us, taught us the truth : ‘As long as the (Financial) Matrix exists, the human race will never be free.’ After he died, the Oracle prophesied his return, and that his coming would hail the destruction of the (Financial) Matrix, end the war, bring freedom to our people. That is why there are those of us who have spent our entire lives searching the (Financial) Matrix, looking for him. I did what I did because…I believe that search is over. – (LIFE Leadership is here.)

Isn’t it time you learned the Defense, Offense, and Playing Field of finances so you too can break free from the Financial Matrix?

Orrin Woodward

Hopefully this opened a few eyes out there.  We all “kind of” know it’s happening and we all “kind of” see it but many are to “busy” or to “entertained” to realize the sense of urgency of getting out of it.

There IS hope.  There IS different information and there IS…..another way

Be blessed,

LEADERSHIP: Theory vs Application

What is leadership?

If you were to ask twenty CEO’s that question you would likely get close to twenty different answers and quite honestly they might all be right; but what exactly is it?  How is it different than management? What does a leader do?LLR

I love what Orrin Woodward (#1 Best selling Author and Inc. Magazine Top 50 Leadership and Management expert) says: “Average leaders raise the bar on themselves; good leaders raise the bar for others; great leaders inspire others to raise their own bar.”

Today’s leader will inspire, encourage, have a vision as well as be willing to get in the trenches and lead by example.

In their book Launching a Leadership Revolution Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady discuss the five levels of influence where ultimately a leader will actually develop leaders that develop other leaders.

Leadership is a unique field because one can read a few leadership books and write a great article or even a book on leadership, maybe even do a great talk or seminar on leadership; the principles and theory of it, but does that make them a leader?  They may know a lot about leadership but can they actually gain enough influence with people, put together a team, organization or following and truly lead people?  There is where you will find the difference between leadership theory and application.

There is a growing awareness of the difference of management and leadership in today’s business world.   The “management” of the past must giveway to the LEADERSHIP of the future.  I actually heard recently (from Forbes I believe) that the future of business is managementLESS.  More and more companies/corporations are realizing the importance of true leadership.  It is a well know fact that most people don’t quit their “jobs” they quit their bosses and with employee turnover being an incredibly costly issue, developing “employee loyalty” through true leadership is one of the greatest assets a company can invest in and develop.

So “How do I become or develop leaders within my organization?” you ask?  Funny you should ask! 🙂

First and most important is to become a student of leadership.  We must be honable and humble enough to learn for if we are to big to learn then we are to small to lead. (OUCH!)  It is often said “Not all readers are leaders but all leaders are readers”.  Which brings me to my three points and keys to success not only in leadership but honestly anything.

1. Read

2. Listen

3. Associate

You may have heard the old saying: “If you hang around dogs, you’ll get fleas”.  There is definitely some truth to that.  In the same respect, if you hang around leaders or successfull people the same principle will apply only to our advantage so association is a huge part in the whole process.

In this short video Chris Brady touches on that just a little.

I would like to ask a question: How many of your sales force, managers or executives are actively & on purpose reading & listening to sales/leadership material or associating with people who are? Imagine what your “numbers” would look like if they all were… Imagine what your competitions numbers would look like if THEY were. 😉

If you were to ask for a show of hands of people in your company who were how many would go up?  Below is another SHORT video of a community of leaders who everyone in the room, 15,000 or so, ARE actively reading, listening and associating with success and leaders.

Happy New Year! How about a new YOU?

Happy new YOU!

We are entering another New Year, and we have yet another New Year resolution.

Here is something to think about.  If one choses to come to America they are allowed two bags of belongings weighing 50 pounds each. Any amount over 50 pounds is considered “extra baggage”. You have two options:

Option #1) You can unload the ”extra” baggage in front of everyone which will hold up everyone in line behind you slowing them down.

Option #2) Pay the price of having extra baggage.

STOP!!!! Do NOT bring your extra baggage into the New Year or it will cost you!

It is time. This is the time of year where everyone makes the resolution to lose weight or get on the latest fitness challenge…. until February!  Now don’t get me wrong. I am all for a healthy diet (Correct eating habits not “pills”) and exercise routine (As long as not over stressing your body/immune system) but what if we focused more on the inside as opposed to the outside? So many people truly want to stick with their resolutionsand get the results they KNOW they can get but they tend to lack the support or a ”community” to help keep them accountable, the drive to stay committed or lack of belief that they really CAN do it which ALL stems from our thinking.  So, let’s make a list of ALL the New Year’s resolutions we have quit and make a resolution to quit quitting!

There is nothing wrong with looking back on our failures as long as we do not dwell on them but rather LEARN from them.  We can’t focus on the road ahead if we’re looking in the rearview mirror.

Let’s look back at why we quit o ur resolutions; I think you all will find a common denominator in the reasons for them regardless of what they were or who you are. It was more than likely our thinking. What if we could reframe our thinking first, then set out to improve the areas with the right attitude, motivation and belief?  What if we actually set goals to strive for and rewarded our self when we reach them? I challenge you all to make a list of everything you want to improve, find a friend or group to work on different things together, hold one another accountable and start starting and QUIT QUITTING!

Before you set out on this journey, ask yourself a couple questions. Be 100% honest and actually think about them like you never have before.

1) What is my passion? What is it in life you are truly passionate about? If your job and money were not an object, what would the one thing in life you would love to do be?

2) What is your purpose? It is NOT “by chance” you or we are here. We were created for a purpose. We were created for greatness. There is not one of you out there that can’t excel at something to the point of impacting lives in a positive way.

Take some time to truly think about the above questions. Turn the T.V. off, stereo off and even cell phone off (Yes, there IS “life after mute”) and think about them, then seek to find resolve.

Here is a list taken from the book Resolved by Orrin Woodward to help inspire you all to look for some different areas in life to find resolution for. Let’s make this yearDIFFERENT and make the resolution lasta LIFE-time not just a month. Resolved3

1) I resolve to discover my God given purpose.

2) I resolve to choose my character over reputation anytime they conflict.

3) I resolve to have a positive attitude in all situations.

5) I resolve to align my conscious (ant) with my subconscious (elephant) mind towards my vision. (Read the book “The Ant and the Elephant”

6) I resolve to develop and implement a game plan in each area of my life.

7) I resolve to develop the art and science of friendship.

8) I resolve to develop financial intelligence.

9) I resolve to develop the art and science of leadership.

10) I resolve to develop the art of conflict resolution.

11) I resolve to develop systems thinking.

12) I resolve to develop Adversity Quotient.

13) I resolve to reverse the current of decline in my field of mastery.

I hope you can all take advantage of these simple principles and utilize your friendships/relationships with one another to help keep each other accountable to all win together to get the results in life you want so you can start living the LIFE you’ve always wanted!

If you are looking for an actual plan with structure and ability to track your progress there is a GREAT program called The Mental Fitness Challenge which several College Universities, Fortune 500 companies and tens of thousands of entrepreneurs  are using.  This program lays out a structured system of improvement, helps you track it and also allows you to have accountability partners to all learn and grow together!

I would love to hear your feedback and connect!

Positive Thinking and your future.

Positive thinking: It is a “learned behavior”. Yes, it is a learned behavior Just like the negative attitude so many people have today. We have learned that too, through the negative people around us, negative lyrics in the music we listen too, negative “entertainment” on TV ( murders, disrespect to parents, sex etc. )and the media. The only difference is positive thinking we have to “work on” and learn, ON PURPOSE. Negative thinking happens on accident. Automatically; without us even trying. Similar to having to “plant” AND “maintain” flowers or vegetables in a garden, we have to manually “plant” them AND “maintain” them. But weeds grow automatically. Positive thoughts we also have to “plant” AND “maintain” ( flowers or vegetables) negative thoughts, (weeds) will grow automatically…. 🙂

Don’t get me wrong. We WILL have trials in life. Doo doo happens! When these trials come up though, we have the CHOICE how to react. We can’t always control the circumstances but we CAN control our attitude about them or reaction to them. I like to say it is not the problem that’s always the problem, it’s our reaction to it. I heard Chris Brady say once, it’s what “what happens to us in life” it’s “what we DO with what happens to us!”

This week I challenge everyone to have a POSITIVE attitude! ON PURPOSE! Let’s not just “live” life let’s live L.I.F.E.! Living Intentionally For Excellence!

Be Blessed!

Battling Seasonal Disorder/Depression.

Christmas is right around the corner! Beautiful lights, the spirit of giving and baking etc.

As enjoyable as it may be, many struggle with depressiAttitudeon this time of year or “Seasonal Disorder”. I urge you all too keep that in mind with everything we say, do or think. There are many hurting people out there that may say things, react or do things they actually do NOT want to do. It is so easy to quickly react to ones reaction (Guilty but getting much better 😉 or “judge” them for being angry, bitter or simply not laughing at your jokes.

Please take the time to try and make someone smile, say “hello, how are you” and “have an awesome day” with sincerity. Let them see the Light or positive in you. Simply acknowledging someone and smiling can truly make their day. Sometimes people need to know we DO notice and care about them and that they are loved and have a purpose.

Sometimes people just need someone to listen to them, not simply “letting them talk” but actually listen to them. Show them you are actually interested in what they have to say. If the conversation get too negative or out of hand, try putting a positive spin on it, letting them know what you’re thankful for etc. but again, simply listening to them can be all the encouragement they need to keep their head up through this season!

Please make a point these next few months to reach out, say extra prayers, send extra positive energy to be the difference maker in even ONE persons attitude, day or life.

For those of you who are going through this tough time yourselves, you may ask “How can I maintain a sense of balance and mental wellness?” Now, I am not a doctor and do not “guarantee” any results as this is simply things I have applied to my life so I would like to make a few recommendations that helped me immensely:

1) Eat as little sugar as possible. Avoiding artificial sweeteners like Aspartame and Sucralose are also important as they are liked to several medical conditions mentally, physically and neurologically.

2) Be aware of wanting to eat when you are not hungry. This is a classic symptom of depression that can be an endless circle of questioning whether we are over eating because we are depressed or depressed because we are over eating. Try to catch yourself and hold yourself accountable. If you don’t think your will power is strong enough, ask a few friends to help you out as a “TEAM”. Many are taking weight loss “challenges” which is also a great idea. The one I have found to offer the highest level of actual nutrition per calorie with the highest level of antioxidants and ACAI the RVLution Challenge.

3) Try to develop and continue an exercise routine. Even something simple like walking, jumprope can help a lot. Getting around other people doing the same thing like a health club is also great as it can give you that sense of “community” many of us long for.

4) Now that we are working on how and what we eat and exercise, it is time to try to eliminate a bad habit and replace it with a good habit. One habit I have developed the last year was the one thing i absolutely despised…lol READING! The first book I read was “Attitude Is Everything” which literally changed my whole outlook on LIFE (Check out the short “videos” links and success talks on this page!! :).

Regardless what we are going through or what we have been through we have to remember it is not so much “what happens” to us in life, it’s what we DO with what happens to us! 🙂 Circumstances are not always within out control but out ATTITUDE is. Try to keep your head up! Remain POSITIVE and go out and make a POSITIVE DIFFERENCE in someones live. They just might have it worse than us….

If none of the above helps, I will make one last suggestion: Read the below story and it’s truth. Regardless what the “demon” may be (addiction, anger, lust, depression, alcoholism, unforgiveness etc) Jesus can heal it. Whether or not you let Him is 100% up to you. If you’re where I was and “had tried everything”, I urge you to filter everyone else’s opinions out and ask yourself honestly. “Am I willing to try the One thing I haven’t yet?”

Mark 5:1 They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gerasenes. 2 When He got out of the boat, immediately a man from the tombs with an unclean spirit met Him,3 and he had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one was able to bind him anymore, even with a chain; 4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces, and no one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Constantly, night and day, he was screaming among the tombs and in the mountains, and gashing himself with stones. 6 Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him; 7 and shouting with a loud voice, he *said, “[a]What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!” 8 For He had been saying to him,“Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9 And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he *said to Him, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” 10 And he beganto implore Him earnestly not to send them out of the country. 11 Now there was a large herd of swine feeding [b]nearby on the mountain. 12 The demons implored Him, saying, “Send us into the swine so that we may enter them.” 13 Jesus gave them permission. And coming out, the unclean spirits entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, about two thousand of them; and they were drowned in the sea. Please “LIKE” and “share” this post and site if you feel it can help anyone and feel free to add me on Facebook and message me any questions you may have!
